Hi ,

I am new member to work with openSliceDDS.

Coming across one query -

1. Does openSliceDDS implementation supports - Database Transaction Processing ?

By Transaction Processing I mean - the transactions with the properties - ACID
(Atomic-Consistent-Isolated-Durable)

Kindly help my understanding.

Please reply.

Thanks & Regards,
Santosh.

Hi Santosh,

DDS in general and OpenSplice DDS specifically can?t be compared to a
centralized database which typically supports ACID transactions.

One could view DDS (and OpenSplice DDS) as a sort of
*replicated*global-dataspace where we ?borrowed? a subset of SQL to
query/filter for
proper subscribed data.

The only form of transaction-like processing in DDS is related to what?s
called ?coherent-updates? where a single publisher can group a set of
topic-updates of potentially different topics in a begin/end
coherent-changes (see chapter 7.1.2.4.1.10. of the DDS rev1.2
specification).
