Hi ,

Is there any way to achieve High Availability in DDS like other Message Oriented Middlewares ?

I mean - the secondary server will be used in case the primary server goes down.

Please suggest.

Thanks & Regards,

Santosh.

Hello Santosh,

DDS is fully distributed by nature. There is no server that mediates communication (like brokers in traditional messaging) thus High Availability is the default option -- Cool, isn't it?

That said, you can broker DDS traffic if convenient to do so, for instance when integrating systems across a WAN etc. For OpenSplice you'd use its Gatway to do so, yet high availability can be reached by just deploying multiple instances of the Gateway.

HTH.

Cheers,
Angelo
